    Maersk GTCC (Global Trade & Customs Consulting) organization is on a journey to become the world ́s first true Global Consulting organization specialized in trade, customs, and compliance.     The GTCC Consultant / Associate Consultant reports to the Regional Head of Global Trade & Customs Consulting (GTCC) and is part of the global GTCC community of experts.

    The Trade & Customs Consultant role requires a basic knowledge of international customs and the global flow of goods upon entry. It also requires a basic understanding of our client ́s business needs and how customs can increase profitability and efficiency for long lasting success. The role requires some independence as the training and coaching continues.

    Responsibilities

  • Organize and execute assigned business projects on behalf of clients, according to client's defined requirements
  • Expected to set out own direction and work against set targets
  • Handles/plans own part of project together with delivery leader in large projects
  • Meet with assigned clients when needed and perform an initial assessment of a problematic situation
  • Collect information about the client's business needs through a variety of methods (shadowing, interviews, surveys, reading reports etc.)
  • Analyze and interpret data to unearth weaknesses and problems, and comprehend the causes
  • Present findings and suggestions to clients with ample justification and practical advice
  • Assist the client in implementing the plan and resolve any occasional discrepancies;
  • Take a protagonist role in business development both with existing Maersk customers and outside market companies

    • We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the world of customs and trade compliance within consulting firms or private/public sector entities
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Japanese customs procedures. Knowledge of Korean customs procedures is a plus
  • Additional knowledge in other geographical areas, inside or outside of Asia, is a plus
  • A professional able to identify opportunities for additional or new businesses, managing leads coming from different parts of the Maersk organization and securing his/her own leads
  • Excellent communication skills in English, being able to write strong presentations and defend them in front of C-level stakeholders in our customers ́ side.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office team collaboration tools. Knowledge of CRM tools (Salesforce) is a plus
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English
