    About Organization

    The Portfolio & Strategy Office (PSO) Division within Rakuten Mobile Inc. designs in-house capabilities to develop best-in-class products and provides strategy and consulting advisory services for product teams.

    The Product Lifecycle Management Department is tasked with portfolio prioritization to drive strategic initiatives and cross-platform activities, leading a centralized team comprised of Project Managers, business analysts, product designers, and product strategists.

    Job Duties

  • Oversee business operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the budget team to monitor project finances, including Budget vs. Actuals (BvA) and Budget vs. Forecast (BvF).
  • Lead projects across multiple workstreams, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular task updates with team members, including daily, weekly, and monthly reviews.
  • Prepare comprehensive project status reports for monthly and quarterly governance meetings.
  • Support the management of the project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage budget planning and capex monitoring in collaboration with budget teams.
  • Facilitate internal team meetings, capture key points, and track follow-up actions.
  • Maintain departmental information systems (e.g., Box Folders) and communication channels (e.g., Viber) to ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to Rakuten Group/Rakuten Mobile information systems and security policies.
  • Coordinate all external meeting logistics and document requirements (e.g., SDM).
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Cultivate and manage vendor relationships.
  • Monitor product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Understand and manage client expectations to foster positive relationships.
  • Guarantee stakeholder satisfaction for both projects and products.
  • Organize and present product demonstrations.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: years in business analysis, project delivery, support planning, and management years managing small teams, with a preference for experience in remote team management.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Solid understanding of general business operations and financial accounting principles. Proficient in managing both business and technical stakeholders during the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions. Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Logical and systematic approach to task management. Strong communication skills, capable of conveying ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Agile project management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence. Familiarity with working alongside teams of Business Analysts (BAs) and engineers, demonstrating a collaborative and team-focused mindset.
  • Professional Attributes: Commercial awareness. Unwavering honesty, integrity, and fidelity, always acting in the best interest of the business. Strong capability for up-skilling and re-skilling, coupled with a curious mind and a desire for continuous learning and growth. Proficiency in managing meetings, reporting, and summarizing notes. Quick response to emergency situations with resolution capabilities.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Industry-recognized project management qualification.
