    Role Responsibilities

  • To ensure that FI product sales revenues and profitability targets are achieved/ exceeded.
  • To ensure that client relationship is prioritized to take the utilization/core banking relationship status further.
  • Strategy

  • To work with the Client Coverage (CC) Head of Banks and Sales teams of Banks for developing the cash management and trade solution sales plans in line within overall Business Plans.
  • To structure cash Management and trade solutions and to sell products and services to new and existing customers in the integrated manner to the Financial Institutions (Banks) of Southern Gulf (UAE, Oman and Qatar) and meet/exceed sales goals and targets in respect of revenues and volumes in his assigned country/countries.
  • To manage Risks associated with the Correspondent Banking Business including but not limited to Credit, Sanctions and AML.
  • Business

  • To ensure that FI product sales revenues and profitability targets are achieved/ exceeded.
  • To ensure that client relationship is prioritized to take the utilization/core banking relationship status further.
  • To undertake market situation analysis to identify new business opportunities in co-ordination with Product Management and Credit.
  • To understand customers' businesses and to anticipate the requirements through a consultative selling process. To match customers' needs with product capabilities through presentation of tailored demonstrations and proposals. To negotiate terms and conditions with customers to maximise revenue and profitability.
  • To provide structured solutions to meet the specific cash management and trade services requirements of our customers and prospects.
  • To engage clients, internal stakeholders including governance forums to monitor & report inherent risks in the business. Assist FCC in managing the Compliance risks and supporting clients in their journey of implementing best practices in line with Bank's De-risking by Education initiative.
  • To pen papers documenting the risks identified across portfolio, highlighting mitigants along with the action plans and present at CBOG, CBOC, CFCC and track progress. Lead conversations internally and externally with client to minimise risks in line with the Bank's strategy
  • To lead & manage Correspondent Banking Academies (CBA) in the Markets covered or assist Regional Head for the Regional CBA
  • To undertake a disciplined product-oriented sales management process. To monitor, track and report on sales activity on a periodic basis and to ensure action is taken to meet sales targets.
  • To train other Business Development Managers in product knowledge, provide technical product expertise and conduct joint calls to ensure joint sales goals are met, new revenue opportunities are identified and customer feedback on product and competition is obtained.
  • To assist product management and development in strategic product rollouts.
  • Drive Bank's digitization agenda and market it by engaging clients and internal stakeholders
  • To provide feedback and assistance to all areas of Correspondent banking; , Product Management, Marketing, etc. to ensure that the voice of the customer and local requirements are incorporated into ongoing plans and initiatives. To keep abreast of customers' needs, trends and product/market intelligence for new product developments/enhancements, strengthening SCB's competitive position in this field.
  • To ensure smooth deal implementation and adherence to high levels of service quality.
  • To identify opportunities of Geographical Breadth and Product depth and referrals to other SCB lines through developing a good understanding of client needs.
  • Facilitate customer service issues and to ensure a high level of post sales service is made available to the clients at all times.
  • Maintain on going contact with customers to ensure targeted level of utilization and lead and support Client Service team in managing client queries for the portfolio assigned.
  • To monitor the progress of regional implementation team for FI products.
  • To prepare customized proposals and standard marketing handouts for structured products.
  • Processes

  • To manage the Transaction Banking relationship across all products for a portfolio of clients.
  • To undertake and manage RFP and deal processes for the specific client base, to ensure optimal solution provided and presented to the customer; working with sales, product management and
  • operations to deliver the desired results. To ensure smooth deal implementation and adherence to high levels of service quality.
  • To provide feedback to Product Management on customer needs, trends and market intelligence, and to provide direction on proposed project programme initiatives to central product management teams. To keep abreast of customers' needs, trends and product/market intelligence for new product developments/ enhancements, strengthening SCB's competitive position in this field.

  • Driving an environment of collaboration, both within the team and across the wider Group, to ensure issues are raised and blockages are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Developing succession plans that identify gaps in bench-strength; subsequently implementing action plans to ensure ready-now talent is available.
  • Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to the risk management framework in identifying, controlling, monitoring and reporting of risk.
  • Ensure sufficient actions are undertaken to mitigate, reduce and contain the identified operational risks.
  • Undertake and/ or coordinate periodic business monitoring activities, escalating issues to the segment head.
  • Work in conjunction with TBSM's and FI to engage the client for successful closure of all RFI's.
  • Ensure adherence to all FCC policies.
  • While ownership rests with Coverage team, facilitate the obtain documentation for any escalation cases.

  • To gain commitment for rolling out sales plans. Train and guide RMs in Financial Institutions on cash/trade Correspondent Banking products and services to facilitate achievement of sales plans.
  • Chief Executive Officers & Business Heads (GB, Treasury, Islamic Banking etc.)

  • To provide/obtain geographical breadth and product depth referrals/leads.
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders to position Correspondent Banking Business, gain commitment and to drive business with C-suite executives at client end
  • Regional/Country Heads; Global Account Managers/ Regional Account Managers within FI/GB

  • To leverage from experiences of rollout of our products and services in their markets and in the structuring of complex network solutions for cross-border deals.
  • Cash Management and Trade Product Management / Development

  • To provide active support on product initiatives, including customer and competitor feedback for new product developments/enhancements and to resolve any product delivery issues.

  • To understand trends affecting customers' and prospects' businesses in order to structure cash/ trade management solutions and sell them our products and services.
  • Our Ideal Candidate

  • 8 to 10 years of banking experience and at least 3-5 years of hand-on experience in the Financial Institutions sales/relationship management field. Solid knowledge of Cash and Trade products.
  • Experience in senior level client management, sales territory management and managing people and teams is important, as is interpersonal skills, presentation and negotiation skills, oral and written communications.Understanding of the bank operations, treasury, trade finance, money markets and regulations on a local level is needed. Have a good knowledge of the Groups Policy, Standards, local regulations and legislation of the prevention of money laundering
