    Business Overview

    Rakuten is one of Japan's largest e-commerce platformers, owning a media platform with one of the highest numbers of visitors, approximately 100 million Rakuten IDs along with associated purchasing and behavior history and other big data, and a distribution network of over 50,000 stores.

    Department Overview

    Account Innovation Office serves as a strategic partner for major brands, leveraging the various assets held by Rakuten Group to provide comprehensive support ranging from increasing brand recognition to expanding sales in not only Rakuten Ichiba but offline domains.

    This position is currently recruiting for the following two job categories. After the selection process, we will guide candidates to a position that suits their aptitude and preferences.

    1. Strategic Planner

    As a strategic partner for major brands, you will be responsible for utilizing Rakuten's big data, assets, and know-how to develop strategies and plans to solve clients' issues, from planning to execution and effectiveness verification.

    2. Product Category Marketing Strategy Planner

    Rather than working with specific clients, this role involves planning and promoting marketing and strategies to expand the distribution of categories associated with major brands. You will be responsible for a particular category such as daily necessities, cosmetics, electronics, sports, etc., that is central to major brands, leading the resolution of category-specific issues and the execution of marketing measures.

    Position Details

    1. Strategic Planner

    This position involves forming client teams in collaboration with the sales team and working on the business expansion of major brands. You will set common goals while collaborating with clients from various industries and carry out the PDCA cycle from the preliminary analysis of issues/opportunities to the proposal of measures, the review after the implementation of measures, and the consideration of next actions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Developing strategies and plans to solve the issues of major brands

    Coordinating with related departments for the implementation of plans

    Creating analysis reports after the completion of plans and making future proposals based on findings

    Conducting multifaceted big data analysis

    Streamlining business processes

    Accumulating and sharing new case studies

    2. Product Category Marketing Strategy Planner

    You will be responsible for organizing the issues of the assigned category and formulating and executing strategies and marketing measures. To expand the sales of the assigned category, the team will flexibly implement various measures such as strengthening sales, enhancing marketing, and establishing new services, regardless of the means.

    Since the approach is not limited, this job will be attractive to those who are good at thinking freely and executing ideas. Flexible execution also requires close coordination with related departments and the ability to lead projects.

    Here are some examples of specific measures that have been implemented:

    Planning and execution of the large-scale marketing event "Rakuten Brand Day" focused on famous brands:

    Service design and marketing execution of "Pet Wari," targeting customer retention with marketing measures for each pet based on collected pet data:

    OMO planning for the expansion of outdoor goods with "OUT DOOR MARKET":

    Consideration of UX and management of service pages to meet the needs of luxury cosmetic brands and encourage their participation in the market:

    In addition, various projects and marketing measures are in motion, including promotional plans for regular purchases of daily necessities, service planning for BtoB, e-commerce strategies for remodeling, and the introduction of AR.

    Manufacturers, advertising agencies, research firms, etc.

    2. Product Category Marketing Strategy Planner:

    Manufacturers, strategic consulting firms, advertising agencies, and other e-commerce related companies.

    Mandatory Qualifications:

    Experience in marketing or planning roles within manufacturers, the IT industry, or advertising agencies, or experience in strategy formulation at strategic consulting firms or business companies

    Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint skills

    Desired Qualifications:

    Experience in consulting or operational roles for e-commerce sites

    Experience in data analysis using SQL

    Experience in launching services as a project team member

    Deep insights into specific industries
