    Business Overview

    Rakuten's entertainment content business aims to be No. 1 in comprehensive strength by creating synergies between each of Rakuten's service areas.

    We are increasing our presence in the entertainment industry by creating things ourselves and building added value.

    Department Overview

    Rakuten Kobo is a global eReading service with one of the largest eReading catalogues in the world.

    The service has many users and is a major player in Japanese e-book industry which has been growing rapidly.

    We will strengthen overseas distribution not only in Japan but also mainly in Asia, North America, and Europe, and utilize the Rakuten Ecosystem to create value that can only be realized with Rakuten Kobo.

    You will be working as a representative for the publisher. As we are a few elite team, we have a wide range of areas of responsibility, from sales to IP, so you can play an active role with discretion.

    In addition to strengthening e-book sales in cooperation with publishers, we can develop a wide range of content, including implementing unique measures and co-producing original works.

    Position Details

    Responsibility:

    In this position

    Sales strategy planning and execution

    Building relationships and negotiating with the publishers

    Getting contents and planning the sales promotion, proposing additional new and unique approachs.

    Development and execution as stated above in cooperation with internal partners.

    Analyzing the sales data and competitors and effectiveness verification and improvement.

    To follow and catch up to market trends.

    To bring up talented people and lead the next generation

    It consists of mid-career(different industries), new graduates.

    4 new graduates professionals

    Mandatory Qualifications:

    Minimum 3 years corporate sales experience (IT, advertising, etc.) or 3 years experience in publishing or e-book industry

    Competency to maximize sales proposals, progress control, good communication skills

    Management and human resource development experience

    Basic skills (PPT, Excel, Word)

    Desired Qualifications:

    Experience in WEB marketing

    Proven advanced level analytical and quantitative skills

    Strong communication skills (Negotiating with executives of publishers, Coordinating work with a wide range of related relationships)

    Interest in the publishing industry or digital contents industry

    Business level English proficiency

    TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability) or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country
