    General:

    -Be a senior leader within APMT Yokohama, support the MD with the company strategy, and be a sparring partner to the MD for day

    -To-day business challenges and decisions.

    -Responsible for all commercial dealings of the company, interfacing with the customers, stevedoring companies,vendors, and the port authority.

    -Drive and improve the business model of APMT Yokohama within its unique business proposition, creating maximum value by means of partnerships and commercial relations.

    -Define best owner of assets, lead the business towards optimal asset utilization, and drive value based on total costs of ownership

    Job Responsibility:

    -Provides leadership to supervisors and/or professional staff and works independently within a broad framework, with a clear level of authority.

    -Has accountability for managing relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.

    -Contributes to wider decision making including the development of practices, processes and procedures.

    -Redefining contractual relationships between APM Terminals, Carriers, and Stevedores

    -Responsible for the commercial department with a strong customer service focused mindset, aligning with the regional commercial team on new business opportunities, customer relationships, and contract management.

    -Ensure a profound understanding of the commercial contracts and relationships with the stevedoring companies and mainliners, continuously optimizing and suggesting structural improvements to the framework, and implementing a pricing strategy aligned with the global pricing team that drives the right level of profitability and customer behaviour.

    -Working with global pricing team to ensure stevedore and customer contracts drive the right behaviour and optimize risk and rewards

    -Develops, manages, and implements Vendor and Contract Management strategies in liaison with other Contract and Vendor Managers. Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.

    -Has accountability for ensuring larger vendors (spend) and more complex contracts are optimised. Is typically in charge of contracts with significant degree of complexity and/or with business

    -critical impact on the organization with overall implications for business continuity.

    -Support the MD in managing the relationship with the Port Authority.

    -Analysis of the concession contract with the Port Authority, deep comprehension of the value and cost drivers, and suggesting changes with a long-term vision of the company's sustainable position in the port, balancing profitability with risks.

    -Craft, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions including vendors, customers and other such business-related contracts.

    -Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.

    -Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal according to what's best for the company.

    -Provides business analytics for various business situations and acts as a sparring partner to the MD.

    -Solves complex challenges based on accurate identification of underlying factors/causes and is aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside his/her own immediate area.

    -Develops people -coaching and mentoring to build organizational capability, talent and bench strength.

    -Governance & Compliance Jobs that establish internal governance framework and ensure compliance with internal and external governance frameworks through assessment and reporting

    Good to Have:

    -Communication: Ability to communicate ideaseffectively to the company, to the other parties involved in the contract and to stakeholders to keep everyone apprised of contract-related matters. Both English and Japanese language (verbal/ written) will be required for external communication

    -Negotiation: Get the most benefit to the company possible out of any contract considered.

    -Confidence: A strong attitude to successfully negotiate and execute contracts, as well Asian understanding of when to walk away and when to stand one's ground.

    -Finance Skills: Evaluate whether or not a contract is good for the company with an ability to determine exactly how the company would benefit.

    -Analytical skillsto lead business decisions.-Familiarity with safety regulations, including those outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration

    -Understanding of procedural best practices in supply chain management-Ability to lead, train and mentor employees individually and as a team.

    -Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology.

    -Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
