- Leading sourcing activities and contract renewals as well as new contracts creation for each country as assigned including data analysis.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plan by considering internal requirements and external market conditions.
- Manage multiple sourcing projects and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and country leadership by integrating procurement strategies with business needs.
- Understanding value chains and associated cost drivers impacting indirect spend of Elanco affiliates in APAC.
- Responsible for negotiating terms and conditions and contract clauses within legal guidelines.
- Lead commercial negotiation with suppliers on cost for each contract to deliver cost savings initiatives and improvements.
- Supporting the use of approved suppliers with business stakeholders, educating and training on the importance of leveraging on approved and qualified suppliers.
- Ensuring the sourcing and contracting activities are properly stored and documented for future audit purposes.
- Actively participating in the sourcing and contracting process improvement and optimization (process steps, internal ways of working, legal support model, documents, and templates etc.).
- Support and involve in Global Procurement Projects as assigned.
- Ensuring the company's purchasing policies are fully complied with, particularly pertaining to risk and reputation.
- Compliance with company rules and regulations including Ethics & Compliance and external laws and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain.
- 3-5 years operational sourcing and contracting experience (source to contract, buyer positions or similar) preferably on a regional scale within indirect spend categories.
- Excellent working knowledge of Ariba Sourcing tools and other procurement systems/tools such as spend database and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM).
- Ability to quickly adapt to new ways of working and operate effectively in a changing environment.
- Proven analytical, problem solving, project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work across cultures and across diverse management styles and engage fast with the stakeholders on different levels in the organization and countries in APAC region.
- Team player and self-motivated with ability to work with cross functional team.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) in English and Japanese language.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
- Experience managing regional third-party relationships including management/oversight, supplier and/or supplier selection, negotiation, contracting and problem resolution skills.
- Effective persuasion and influencing skills.
- Korean language is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Travel: Overnight domestic and international is possible (10%)

As part of the Elanco APAC Indirect Procurement team, the Specialist, Indirect Procurement APAC has direct responsibility to ensure Indirect APAC category strategies are developed and operationalized through competitive bid processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ), negotiations, and contracting. This role will interact, influence, and make an impact at all levels. The person in this position works closely with key stakeholders and leadership of each country as assigned, responsible for leading negotiations of commercial terms, pricing, and conditions with suppliers to realize Elanco's goals and objectives.
The strategic vision of Elanco Indirect Procurement is to be fully integrated with business processes in all indirect functions and be recognized locally for the value add provided through streamlined, organized, fair and effective procurement activities. This role will be part of APAC Indirect Procurement team to define best practices, be a trusted advisor and lead procurement activities of countries assigned.
