    Role Purpose: The role is responsible in assisting the development and execution of Government Affairs strategies. The individual will work as part of country government affairs and public affairs team in close collaboration and alignment with local Business colleagues to secure patients' access to Edwards Lifesciences technologies.

    Job Functions

    1.Develop, coordinate and drive government affairs strategies for Edwards Japan, balancing appropriate priorities across the public affairs and Business Groups and aligning with overall Edwards business strategy and the threats and opportunities in the external policy environment.

  • ·Map key government and other stakeholder relationships considering the strategy and priorities and drive a plan to build and sustain excellent relationships with those stakeholders for current and future business
  • ·Actively drive prioritized government affairs strategies to shape the external policy environment or identify the pathways for Edwards to successfully implement the collaboration and partnership programs
  • ·Position Edwards as a thought leader and reliable and credible partner to government officials who shape the health policy environment, through understanding government policy priorities and shaping and advocating Edwards' strategies in relation to government priorities.
  • 2.Develop relationships critical to furthering Edwards interests and monitor the policy impact

  • Establish mapping strategy for key targets, and represent Edwards with elected officials as necessary, to promote Edwards' position on key policies.
  • 3.Work in partnership with relevant internal business partners to develop strong relationship and network with critical stakeholders in policy field to track healthcare policy, legislation, regulations, and reimbursement trends. This includes government bodies, interest groups, payers, and medical societies. 4.Responsible for the policy monitoring and intelligence analysis to identify and develop the proper policy engagement to mitigate the business risk

    5.Coordinate the overall engagement with country industry associations to ensure Edwards' position maintaining strong leadership in appropriate industry associations and drives associations for effective policy advocacy on priorities of concern to Edwards.

    6.Work in collaboration with JAPAC Public Affairs and Global Public Affairs, as well as cross-functional business partners on the special strategic partnerships/projects. Work with designated trade and business associations on political, legislative, regulatory and communications issues of importance to the company in country and/or JAPAC

    Required Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Required a bachelor's degree or equivalent in healthcare-related fields.
  • Required a minimum of 5 years' experience of market access, health economics and reimbursement, government relation, government affairs or relevant fields.
  • Proven successful project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking
  • Expert understanding of Government Affairs procedures in relation to broader policy and access-related ones, with extensive and detailed knowledge of company allowing for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas
  • Expert knowledge of country/regional access and government relation
  • Serve as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, and Regions
  • Ability to develop strategy, drive execution, and deliver results, interact professionally with all organizational levels and work and excel within a fast-paced, dynamic
  • Strong English-speaking ability and clear, concise communication at all levels with strong speaking, presentation and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of the political processes of government in country/region
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented with high level of energy
  • Flexibility to collaborate with other corporate functional groups, internal and external
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
