The mission for Fintech Data Governance is
To undertake a leadership role in the creation, implementation and oversight of the enterprise-wide information and data management goals, standards, practices, and processes aligned with the goals of the organization.
To provide expert advice and support in relation to all aspects of Information and Data Governance including Data Ownership, Data Protection, Data Privacy, Information Usage, Classification and Retention .
To promote Data Governance at an executive and senior management level.
Position:
Position Details
As a Data Specialist within the Rakuten Data Governance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the protection and compliance of personal data across the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining privacy policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive privacy initiatives and provide guidance on privacy-related matters.
Review and respond to the FinTech Data Control Process for Rakuten FinTech companies.
Ensure that the purposes and meaning of data usage are in line with the regulations, guidelines, or business requirements.
Other duties related to fintech Data Security/Governance such as guidance and training, documentation.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data security considerations are embedded in business processes and systems.
Stay up to date with emerging privacy trends and best practices.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information security, Data Protection, Law or a related field.
Basic knowledge of IT service including web application use and data analysis.
Knowledge of IT security or internal controls.
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
Excellent skills in writing and reading comprehension in Japanese.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in privacy management, data governance, IT Audit or related roles.
Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, APPI, or other relevant privacy frameworks.
Analytical skills to consider the balance between risks and monetization of business.
