    The Amazon Hardlines Private Brand team is seeking a motivated Business Manager with a strong track record of delivering outcomes.

    In this role, you will oversee P&Ls within a category portfolio, collaborating closely with product development, US Business Management team, and various teams to steer global strategies.

    You will analyze thoroughly to extract insights and collaborate with our planning and in-stock teams to develop category-level business plans.

    Your focus will be on ensuring top-notch selection for our JP customers and driving business performance and profitability. Moreover, you will be responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reporting to track performance against objectives.

    You will build trust with diverse stakeholders and leaders in both JP and US, actively shaping our selection, pricing, and availability strategy to achieve our targets.

    We are looking for an experienced individual who is eager to lead a business independently.

    The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire and drive growth for their categories.



    Key Responsibilities:

    CUSTOMER NEEDS
    • Evaluates flywheel inputs to enhance customer experience quality continually
    • Analyzes customer feedback to prioritize customer obsession within the team
    • Identifies opportunities to set our customer experience apart from competitors

    STRATEGY
    • Devises long-term strategies and influences global teams to offer optimal selection for JP customers
    • Creates action plans based on detailed performance analysis to drive improvements
    • Offers insights into business opportunities and long-term strategies across categories

    BUSINESS OPERATIONS
    • Manages retail P&L for a category, devising plans to enhance revenue and margin for the business
    • Conducts thorough analysis and comprehends the downstream impact of pricing, selection, and convenience changes across subcategories
    • Identifies product development areas needing attention and guides the team in issue resolution
    • Formulates strategic marketing plans to optimize margin and customer experience

    AUTOMATION & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
    • Identifies and implements long-term solutions to automate or streamline category processes
    • Collaborates with internal cross-category and tech teams to implement process enhancements

    TEAM DEVELOPMENT
    • Fosters team members' growth through regular feedback and coaching
    • Implements effective recruiting practices and sets high hiring standards

    About the Team:

    The Hardlines Private Brands business is a part of the global Amazon Private Brands org, offering opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders globally to build beloved and trusted brands.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • University degree in a relevant field such as business, management, project management, or analytics
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Project Management
    • Proficiency in Excel and handling large datasets to identify trends and issues
    • Results-oriented with strong prioritization and multitasking skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines
    • Capability to identify root causes of problems and take necessary actions to address them
    • Proficiency in Japanese and English languages at a business level

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Independently capable of building SQL queries
    • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
    • Experience in driving process enhancements
    • Proven track record of influencing others in a business environment
    • Strong focus on business and results-driven mindset
    • Capable of operating effectively in both tactical and strategic modes simultaneously
    • Willingness to take hands-on approach to tasks
    • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating
    • Experience in the fashion industry
