- Support the design of primary structural steel for offshore wind turbines as part of the Murakami Tainai Offshore Wind project (村上胎内洋上風力プロジェクト)
- Supervise the delivery of the foundation engineering inputs for the CDIT/METI certification process
- Assist the structural engineering activities during the FEED/Basic, and Detailed Design stages of the project, and then continue supporting the project on into fabrication and construction stages
- Mentor and develop the junior and associate colleagues within the team and across the wider business
- Ensure that all lessons learned from our operating fleet are incorporated into future projects
- Provide technical support to Procurement, Quality and HSSE departments
- Work closely across all interfaces with; internal stakeholders, external design houses, certification authorities, and fabrication contractors to produce cost effective and value-added solutions
- Educated to degree level in civil or structural engineering, or equivalent experience
- Willingness to travel
- Good communicator and excellent team player
- Fluent spoken and written English and Japanese
- Member or Aspiring Member of a professional engineering body
- Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore structural engineering
- Proven experience supporting renewable construction projects
- The drive and motivation to meet time, cost and quality targets
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business
