- Proofread and finalize content translated from English into Japanese subtitle files, ensuring the highest possible technical and linguistic quality standards, using SSTG1Pro, EZTitles subtitling software and/or Pixelogic proprietary cloud-based subtitling software.
- Leverage in-house glossary tool for consistency across products as well as follow client style guide specifications.
- Ensure accurate and culturally sensitive translations that resonate with target audiences.
- Collaborate with the translation team to address language-specific queries and provide constructive feedback to external linguists.
- Handle rejections/make corrections in files.
- Occasionally perform translation From English into Japanese subtitles.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Manage assignments on a pro-active basis and escalate issues to management.
- Remain current with language and industry trends and adapt to evolving client requirements.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive content.
- Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager(s).
- Bachelor's or master's Degree, preferably in Japanese, linguistics, and language study majors and/or Entertainment and Media
- Excellent command of English
- Proficient knowledge and skills of Korean language is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of subtitle translation and proofreading experience required
- Knowledge of professional scripting, and subtitling software highly desirable
- Deep sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume
- Punctuality, dependability, and willingness to adapt to last-minute changes to programming and industry
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive attitude when experiencing obstacles and enthusiastic to get things done
- Ability to follow technical/style guide for multiple client content types
- Must be residing in Tokyo, Japan
