    JOB TITLE: Supply Technician

    BUSINESS TITLE: Shipping and Receiving Clerk FLSA Status: Non-exempt

    JOB SERIES: 2005 PAY LEVEL:NF-02


    INTRODUCTION:

    This position is located in the Warehouse Section, MCCS Supply Branch, Marine Corps Base, Camp Smedley D. Butler,
    Okinawa, Japan. The purpose of this position is to receipt for all supplies and equipment for the Martine Corps Community Services and prepare supplies and equipment for shipment off island.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSISIBLITIES:

    The incumbent receipts for all supplies and equipment shipped to MCCS via Marine Corps Base Supply System, Distribution Management Office (DMO), local commercial businesses, as well as picks up any supplies and equipment requested through the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). This position requires prolonged standing, bending over, stooping, ability to lift 75 pounds, and ability to obtain a forklift license. The primary duties of the incumbent are as follows:

    • Ensuring the receiving documentation coincides with the actual shipment.
    • Notification of MCCS activities of arrived shipments, schedules date and time to inventory and verify items received against supporting documentation.
    • Identifying discrepancy in shipments, preparing supply discrepancy reports, notifying appropriate authorities of discrepancies
    • Ensures proper documentation is signed and forwarded to proper authorities.
    • Inducting receivers into the automated data base, forwarding receiving documentation to Shared Services Center authorizing payment.
    • Maintains an accurate log sheet of incoming items.
    • Unloading/loading of trucks and containers.
    • Maintains Purchase Orders and supporting documentation.
    • Tracks, traces, and updates status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
    • Assigns MCCS property tags and attaches tags to property.
    • Provides Property Control a copy of supporting documentation.
    • Sort and distribute mail.
    • Preparation of postal labels, DD Form 1149, DD Form 1349-1, and any other documents required for processing.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Duties are primarily performed in a warehouse environment. The incumbent will be required, at times, to manual lift crates, boxes, and containers exceeding 75 pounds. Exposure to heat, high humidity, dust, cuts, bruises, and other normal warehouse hazards should be expected. Position required prolonged standing, bending over, stooping, ability to lift 75 pounds, and ability to obtain a forklift license.

    Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles, and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

    Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
