    Job Description:

    The Role:

    Our site in Geino, Japan is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the Materials Solutions (MS) manufacturing and operations team and to provide overall operational leadership for the Geino, Japan site. This role will report to the Asia Hub Vice President of Operations.

    This position will require building effective working relationships across the organization and developing partnerships on a local and global level. This position will solve problems, execute solutions, and develop the Geino site team to deliver improvements in improve safety, quality, service, and productivity.

    What You'll Do:

    • Responsible for ensuring the security and safety of all operations, personnel, and regulatory compliance at the Geino, Japan site.
    • Oversee and ensure the safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, capacity, and timely delivery of manufacturing operations in Geino, Japan.
    • Develop and manage the site's operating cost and capital budget, ensuring execution aligns with budget targets.
    • Mentor and develop site managers and individual contributors, enhancing their competencies and capabilities.
    • Provide strategic direction and prioritization to personnel across various functions including planning, scheduling, purchasing, manufacturing, engineering, capital investments, quality, inventory control, and distribution/shipping.
    • Lead or actively participate in cross-functional teams to address customer supply and quality issues, while driving sustainable process improvements.
    • Develop and manage manufacturing performance objectives to drive operational improvements effectively.
    • Guide and support new product transition activities from engineering to high-volume production.
    • Assist in developing, planning, and executing the global manufacturing strategy for the Materials Solutions division.

    What We Seek:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical), with an advanced degree in Business or Management preferred.
    • Extensive experience in leading and developing operations personnel within a multi-shift manufacturing organization.
    • 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or operations with increasing levels of responsibility and oversight. Strong preference for experience in the chemical or semiconductor industries.
    • Proven track record in new product introduction, commercialization, and product transitions.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
    • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification highly preferred.
    • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, capable of effectively communicating with diverse audiences including customers.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
    • Ability to cultivate a "Customer-First" mindset and culture across the site.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and change-management skills
    • Bias for action and solutions, ability to drive team work to completion.
    • Capacity to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
