    What You'll Get to Do:

    This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

    SRF-JRMC is implementing the Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) tool to enable actions supporting availability work package development, planning, contracting, execution, quality, and safety. Multiple positions are needed across these areas of expertise. Personnel hired for this will work as a team and will interact with other Government and Contractor personnel to meet Command and Project requirements.

    Candidates will:

  • Develop repair specifications and government estimates in support of various shipbuilding contracts.
  • Review and evaluate contractor proposals for the purpose of providing input or negotiating labor and material costs.
  • Plan the repairs, do research and procure materials, estimate man hours and material requirements, and negotiate final tasking in order to accomplish completion of repairs in a timely manner.
  • Monitor contractor's cost control systems during contract performance and recommend cost approval or disapproval.
  • Review contract specifications, drawings, technical manuals, and design test requirements to determine and evaluate contractor compliance, progress and work quality.
  • More About the Role:

    Candidates selected for these roles should also expect to:

  • Assist in process development and implementation of the role of Shipbuilding Specialist (SBS) at SRF-JRMC. This may include: Develop and document SBS roles and responsibilities. Develop and deliver NMD training to users throughout SRF-JRMC. Develop and document a NAVSEA-approved SBS qualification program. Mentor new SBS personnel.
  • Assist SRF-JRMC with the implementation of the NMD system. This may include: Developing and documenting NMD workflow processes. Identifying and documenting NMD interfaces with existing SRF-JRMC maintenance management systems
  • Work well independently and as a team player.
  • Selections are expected to be made in the areas listed below, and selectees will have specialized expertise in one or more of these:

  • Ship Building Specialist (SBS) (Planning / Execution)
  • Technical Planning
  • Quality Assurance
  • Safety
  • Contracting
  • HM&E (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Project Support Engineer
  • You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Two to four years of related experience (availability planning in a Shipyard or RMC environment
  • Working knowledge of Navy Maintenance Database and Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) / Maritime Systems Enterprise (MSE) systems
  • Working knowledge of Naval Standard Items and Ship Drawings
  • Working knowledge of critical path and critical chain scheduling
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Support/interface with customers via face to face, telephone, video conferencing, email, chat, and applicable online presence.
  • Work with limited oversight from manager. Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Specifically: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • Strong customer service orientation. Respectfully engage customers in a manner that achieves successful outcomes.
  • Ability to organize work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to perform successfully both independently and as a team member in a demanding work environment.
  • Great attitude
  • Normal demands associated with a Shipyard or Regional Maintenance Center office environment, including ability to work on a computer for long periods. Work will often be in an active industrial environment that may require walking long distances carrying backpack filled with work materials (and transporting materials, supplies as needed), climbing ladders, and accessing confined spaces. Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
  • These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience on DDGs, CGs, LCC and other surface ship platforms
  • Working experience at SRF-Yokosuka.
  • Ability to deliver training to small and large groups of people.
