    Job Summary

    As Marketing Director, you will be a member of the Japan leadership team, contributing to the overall marketing strategy. In addition, you will act as linkage between the Global & APAC Marketing organizations and the local sales team.

    You will be responsible for the localization and implementation of global marketing programs in Japan to generate inbound and outbound quality leads and support the Japan business through fully integrated campaign orchestration (via events, channel marketing, market research, advertising, market segmentation, social media, PR, channel marketing, database development, and digital marketing). This includes Customer Acquisition Programs and Customer Retention and Key Account Programs.

    The role will require you to coordinate various marketing functions and develop a local field marketing plan in support of global, APAC, and Japan-specific programs that deliver a localized approach, working directly with the Japan leadership team and Sales leadership team.

    Additional elements to the role are:

  • Lead a field marketing team and provide strategic leadership in collaborating with other local marketing teams that impact field marketing activities.
  • Act as a Marketing Strategist for the service provider, enterprise, and mid-market customer segments. Lead the planning, development, and execution of demand generation marketing initiatives for key industry verticals to drive business results.
  • Align with Sales to ensure demand generation programs are synchronized with sales priorities, objectives, and goals.
  • Work in close conjunction with the APAC Programs team, vertical subject matter experts and Japan sales and leadership teams to identify and target key accounts for acquisition, retention or where it is deemed there is substantial potential for growth.
  • Roll out highly targeted marketing programs for these organizations to encourage strategic engagement with Equinix. Plan and execute high-impact product/solution/service launches within the Japan geography.
  • Work in collaboration with the APAC Central Marketing functions to ensure the delivery of assets and activities for the Japan market. These functions include PR, Marcoms, digital/web, brand.
  • Work closely with the Japan sales teams, Leadership team, APAC Marketing Ops and APAC Sales Ops to measure/track lead performance accurately using Marketing Automation and CRM tools (Marketo, SFDC)
  • Optimize annual budget allocation and spending to maximize lead generation and pipeline performance across key Japan marketing initiatives. Leverage data-driven insights and continuous optimization to ensure marketing investments successfully propel the business towards overall territory objectives.
  • Requirement:

  • 15+ years' of marketing experience with a B2B technology – SaaS, software, technology services, ideally with platform business background.
  • Experience of managing a delivery-focused marketing team, including career progression planning, performance appraisals and individual employee engagement and motivation with multi-cultural members in multiple geographic locations
  • Proven experience in effective planning, executing, and tracking lead generation activities and working closely with sales teams to drive lead conversion. Specific experience required in closed loop marketing process (e.g. Marketo and SFDC). Comfortable at leveraging social media, web, email and CRM systems for virtual engagement.
  • Solid track record in field marketing with mix of corporate and entrepreneurship background is an advantage
  • Excellent and effective communications skills - can clearly convey Equinix value to customers and partners, as well as able to inspire internal stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese language
  • Ability to think strategically but willingness to roll-up sleeves and be hands-on.
  • Working knowledge of Japan customers, partner ecosystems and industry trends.
