- Oversee daily operations of Legal team(s) in a specific region or unit
- Provide legal counsel to the business and handle legal issues
- Manage external legal advisors and address complex problems
- Stay updated on regulatory changes, new laws, and internal policies
- Allocate resources, plan effectively, and assess risk for business decisions
- Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, maintain ethical standards, and address control issues
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Active Bar license in Japan
- Background in banking/finance or a prominent law firm
- Thorough knowledge in the field of responsibility
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage with various stakeholders
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities
- Readiness to confront challenges and defend Citi's integrity
- Proficiency in Japanese and legal English (written, spoken, drafting)
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
